Workshop Policies

Our Response to COVID-19

Due to the current COVID-19 pandemic, we are implementing all safety precautions to ensure the safety of our chandlers, our customers, and our Charleston community. We have limited our class sizes to allow for a safe distance between each participant and the teacher. We will be requiring masks throughout the class. Don’t have a mask, don’t worry! We have complimentary masks for anyone who forgot their protective gear. We’ll also provide gloves that will be worn throughout the class and we will be thoroughly disinfecting all surfaces between classes. We are also asking that if anyone is feeling unwell, please don't attend the workshop, see below for details.

Our Workshop Policies, at a glance:

  • Register in advance to guarantee your seats
  • Ages 15 and up (Interested in a junior chandler class? Email us at info@candlefish.com)

  • Pick up candles next day or ship for a flat rate

  • Time frame - One and a half hours

  • Capacity - 4 -6 people

  • Cancellation Policy – Full refund up to 48 hours prior to your scheduled class

  • Any cancellations due to COVID-19 will be eligible for a full refund

Please read through these policies before registering for a workshop

1) Age limitations

Unless otherwise indicated, workshops at Candlefish are designed for adults ages 15 and older.  Because our candle workshops are BYOB, involve hot wax, and are intended for adults, we aim to create an adult friendly atmosphere. Please contact info@candlefish.com with any questions!

2) Punctuality

We get it, things happen and you run late from time to time. Although we won’t give you a tardy slip for being late to class, please be aware that classes start promptly. Please arrive promptly to get settled, pop those corks, and mingle with your new friends so we can start on time.

If you are going to be late*, please call the shop ahead of time and let us know, otherwise we may begin the class without you and we don’t want to do that! This policy is in place mainly out of respect for the other class participants, and is also due to our shop staffing.

*If you or any members of your group are going to be over 15 minutes late, we ask that you reschedule for a later date. We are happy to help you do this, but please give the shop a call before the class begins.

3) Cancellation Policy

For cancellations made at least 48 hours (two days) in advance:

For Credit Card: Refunds will be issued

For Check: Candlefish will issue a refund check within 10 days.

For Cash: Customer refunds, up to $100, available in the store.

For cancellations made less than 48 hours (two days) in advance: Class passes will be given as credit towards another workshop.

4) Changing Class Dates

In the event that something comes up and you need to change your workshop registration, we are happy to work with you to find a more suitable workshop time. Please contact your Candlefish location directly at by phone or email and we will be happy to assist you in this process.

5) Sharing a Candle Tray

We ask that each person who attends a workshop has a ticket. We realize that some people may want to tag along simply watch, however our workshop space can only accommodate a limited number of people.

5) Candle Pick-Up

The candles you make in your workshop will cure overnight at Candlefish, and are ready to be picked up the day following your workshop. Candlefish will babysit your candles for one week following your candle workshop, so please make arrangements to pick up before the end of the week!

Other things we want you to know:

  • All workshops are BYOB
  • Workshops are typically 1-1.5 hours
  • We have a wait list, so if your class is full please call your nearest Candlefish location to sign up
  • All workshop goers receive 15% off in store purchases
