Charleston September Maker Break: Cinelle Barnes
Come join Charleston based author (and Candlefish Chandler!) Cinelle Barnes for a writing workshop designed to tease out the scents (from our candle library!), sights, sounds, feel and tastes of fond travel memories: a hike through the Pacific Northwest, a beach trip with friends, a weekend of deep diving (literally and figuratively) in Bali or a Sunday feast at Grandma's house.
Students will receive one 2.5oz Candlefish tin of their choice and learn what it means to write an experiential travel essay, with time, place, attitude and meaning in mind; how to pitch a travel story for publication; how to build an author platform; and how to balance substance and brevity in content, style and form.
All workshops are BYOB (bring your own beverage) and will last approximately 2 hours. All workshop guests will receive 15% off all in-store merchandise the evening of their class.
