Salaried, Exempt

Salary Range: $60,000 - $70,000

As we continue to grow and expand our Candlefish presence across different states and cities, salary structuring will vary based upon these factors: cost of living, market rates, local economic conditions, and legal requirements regarding minimum wage. Job Purpose: The Candlefish Assistant Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the store, ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction, and driving sales performance. This role is pivotal in fostering a welcoming store environment, managing staff efficiently, and maintaining the brand's high standards. The Assistant Manager collaborates closely with the General Manager and Director of Retail Operations to align store objectives with the company's vision, ensuring consistent and profitable growth in sales, while upholding the essence and values of the Candlefish brand.


Reports To: General Manager



What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Responsible for all third party, Candlefish product, and raw materials inventory management
  • Ability to step into any role including teaching and floor work
  • Uphold culture and customer service standards through consistently training and mentoring staff
  • Proactively take steps to exceed sales goals and KPI metrics as determined by General Manager
  • Responsible for continuously educating team in product and fragrance knowledge
  • Teaching candle making workshops on a consistent basis and having chandlers shadow you to train and learn
  • Assist in store staffing responsibilities including being a part of the hiring process, new hire training, and scheduling
  • Act as a Manager on Duty and oversee a productive and positive work environment when scheduled to do so

Inventory Management

  • Maintain inventory for all third party, Candlefish product, and raw materials
  • Complete regular cycle counts for all third party, Candlefish product, and raw materials
  • Ensure all product is stickered accurately for accurate POS transactions
  • Create inventory movement plans in conjunction with the General Manager (ie. maintaining healthy stock levels of well performing products, deciding what products to move to sale and when to do that, etc)

Operations

  • Responsible for ordering cleaning, office, retail, workshop, and other supplies
  • Oversee back of house organization and cleanliness
  • Manage class candles including pickups and customer communication
  • Work in conjunction with the General Manager on store schedules

Leadership

  • Responsible for leading, inspiring, and motivating team members on a daily basis
  • Training new hires on specific assigned duties when scheduled
  • Embody Candlefish Sales Standards and Values
  • Maintain active floor presence to ensure effective, in the moment coaching and employee development

Skills and Qualifications:

  •  3+ years of retail experience 
  •  1+ in a leadership role
  • Highschool diploma or equivalent

Work Environment: 

  • Be able to lift 50 lbs 
  • Be able to stand on your feet for prolonged periods of time
